When does the season starts and ends?
2024 Season Competition start dates:
- GDSFA Mixed Competitions - April 2024
- BDSFA/Phoenix League for Girls/Womens - April 2024
The season ends around August 2024 for regular competition rounds. However if your team makes the finals which applies for all competion teams from Under 12s and older, this may extra weeks until September .
When are the games played?
On regular season, competition games with GDSFA are played on Saturdays while the girls & ladies games with BDSFA Phoenix League are played on Sundays.
There will be circumstances where games will be played as a catchup game or due to reschedule on weeknight or long weekends due to postponement or cancellation of regular games scheduled due to weather or ground closures. Prior and official notices will be advised regarding these circumstances.
The following is a guide of playing times (however this may be subject to circumstantial reasons that it will deviate from this historical schedule of playing times):
- U6/U7/U8 - Early Morning Games starting 8am or 8:30am and normally finished by mid to late morning
- U9/U10/U11 - Mid Morning Games starting 9am or 9:30am and normally finsihes by midday or just after 12pm
- U12/U13/U14 - Game varies with U12s may start as early as 8:30am, but U13 and U14 may start mid morning to late morning. All games normally finishes around midday unless early morning start for U12s, and latest may finish around 1pm.
- U15/U16/Youth - Game again varies but usually starts mid morning as early as 9am but majority are played from 10:30am onwards. Normally finished midday to after lunch to 2pm but the latest is around 3pm.
- Seniors (AAM/O35s/O45s) - Games usually starts 1pm but majority is scheduled for 3pm kickoff and finishes mid afternoon to around 4:30pm.
When and where are training held?
Training schedule are agreed amongst players, parents together with the coach and manager to find a best agreeable day and time to train together. Thus this is depending on your respective team which will be formally advised with the club to allocate a time and space for training at Sydney Smith Park during pre-season sometime February until end of March, and then it will be moved to Ted Burge starting April moving forward throughout the season.
There will be at least one training on a weekday/weeknight - however coaches may deliver two (2) or even three (3) training sessions per week with game day on Saturday for GDSFA and Sundays for the Phoenix League.
Coaches will be in contact with the team once the nominations with the Association have been confirmed and finalised. Nominations for team are submitted end of February and expect to be confirmed early March to mid-March. If you are new registrant to the club, expect communication about first training sometime in March before official competition start in April.
What Age group i am allowed to play?
The age group you can play with is the age you will turn in 2024. You can play up in another age Group up to 2 years older than your age in 2024 but cannot play down an age group in GDSFA. You can play up to 3 years older than your age for the Phoenix League with BDSFA for Girls and Ladies competition.
What are the registration fees for 2024?
As per agreed with 2024 Committee, the following are the fees for 2024 season:
- Under 6s (born 2018 or later) - $160.00
- Under 7s (born 2017) - $160.00
- Under 8s (born 2016) - $165.00
- Under 9s (born 2015) - $165.00
- Under 10s (born 2014) - $175.00
- Under 11s (born 2013) - $180.00
- Under 12s (born 2012) - $210.00
- Under 13s (born 2011) - $225.00
- Under 14s (born 2010) - $225.00
- Under 15s (born 2009) - $225.00
- Under 16s (born 2008) - $225.00
- Under 17s (born 2007) - $235.00
- Under 18s (born 2006) - $235.00
- Seniors (born 2005 or earlier) - $340.00
Do you have a student discount for the registration?
Registration discount only applies to Seniors (19+ years or older player) providing proof as Full time student for a discount amount of $30. You pay the full amount first, and then we will refund the discount amount to you.
Can the Kids Active Voucher be used towards my registration?
Yes, it will be applicable. The club will accept the Active Kids Voucher. However, you have to apply for this separately for the entitlement.

How do i register to play?

How do i pay for the registration?
All payments are via Online registrations. EFTPOS payment using VISA or MASTERCARD are the only way to pay online.
What is the makeup of the registration fee?
The registration fees comprises of three (4) components:
- Football Federation Australia Fees
- Football NSW Fees
- GDSFA Fees
- Club Fees
This goes with any other clubs. But with Wenty - we try to keep our registration fees the lowest possible.
The published registration fees does not include the official Wenty shorts and socks that all players wear during game days. However, you can purchase online together with your registration and cost will be added towards the payment for those items. Our cost for the Wenty shorts is $20 and Wenty socks is $10. Or you can purchase them separately on advised Wenty Apparel sale schedules prior to season commences. It will also be available during games days at Ted Burge canteen every Saturdays.
WENTY SHORTS AND SOCKS ARE UNIFORM REQUIRED TO BE WORN BY PLAYERS ON GAME DAY.
GAME JERSEYS USED ON GAME DAYS WILL BE HANDED OUT TO EACH TEAM AND ARE ISSUED FOR GAME DAY USE IS WENTY CLUB PROPERTY AND NOT FOR SALE.
How do i know if my registration has been submitted and approved?
You will receive a confirmation email with subject "Your Registration to Football - Pending Approval" from Playfootball Team with your receipt as an attachment upon completing submission online.
All registrations will be reviewed and approved from first week of February - when the Wenty Registrar will start doing reviews and approvals and once approved you will receive another email with subject "Your registration to Football is now Active" from Playfootball Team and stating your registration with Wenty Waratah Football Club is now approved.
When and how will i know to what team i will be playing?
Registrations will close on Sunday, February 11th so we as a club can submit Team nominations. Team Nominations after registrations are submitted to the Association around end of February. After which it will be confirmed early March with all Team allocations for competitions are finalised.
You will be notified thru your contact details submitted by your respective Team Coach or Manager about your first training session on pre-season. There are circumstances where a team does not have a Coach or Manager - in this eventuality the club will gather to meet with the team about sorting out this with the team moving forward where we will be asking for volunteers to step up as Coach and the Manager for the team just to ensure that the team competes as the season starts.
