FIELD DUTIES DESCRIPTION

Field duties only applies if you are playing a home game at Ted Burge Sporsground.

SETUP DUTIES

If your team plays the first game on an allocated field at Ted Burge - this means your team will be responsible to make sure that the field you will be playing is properly setup and made ready prior to your game such that your game starts promptly on time on designated kickoff time. 

The following needs to be setup on these Fields:

Mini 2 & Mini 3 (Under 6s and Under 7s)

  • MINI GOALS (2m x 1m) :  Put into each end the field, secured in place ready for your game. 
  • CORNER FLAGS/POLES: Put in each corner, and on each half-line about a meter/yard outside the sideline.

 Mini 1 (Under 8s and Under 9s)

  • MINI GOALS (5m  x 2m) :  Put into each end the field, secured in place ready for your game. 
  • CORNER FLAGS/POLES: Put in each corner, and on each half-line about a meter/yard outside the sideline.

Field 2A & Field 2B (Under 10s and Under 11s) 

  • MINI GOALS (3m  x 2m) :  Put into each end the field, secured in place ready for your game. 
  • CORNER FLAGS/POLES: Put in each corner, and on each half-line about a meter/yard outside the sideline.


Field 1 or Field 2 (Under 12s to Senior AAM/AAL)

  • NETS :  Put into each goals at both ends the field, attached and secured to the goals in place ready for your game. 
  • CORNER FLAGS/POLES: Put in each corner, and on both sides of the half-line about a meter/yard outside the sideline.
  • CHAIRS/BENCHES: Put chairs and benches within technical area for Home team and Away teams use during the game. In view of COVID-19 a social distanced chairs must be setup on the field.
  • UNDER 12s Only: Additional Poles/Flags or Cone Markers to mark the 25 metre line by placement of a cone or pole to the side of both touch lines, 25 metres from the goal line at both ends of the field 


We encourage assigned team, ie players and parents to come in earlier than usual as to to help and assist setting up of field before your game so it can start on time for the designated kickoff. The more hands involved from the team the lighter the load for everyone and the quicker setup can be done.


PACKUP DUTIES

If your team plays the last game on an allocated field at Ted Burge - this means your team will be responsible to make sure that the field you will be playing is properly packed up after your game.

The following needs to be packed up on these Fields.


  • MINI GOALS (for Under 6s to Under 7s): Removed from field and put into bags as necessary then put into storage within the Away change room next to the canteen.
  • MINI GOALS (for Under 8s to Under 11s): Removed from field by carrying the goals (at least two people)  to the front of the canteen. Make sure all pegs, goal weights and anchors are gathered. With goals at the canteen area - dismantle and collapse the goals (where necessary) leaving the nets intact and put them back into storage inside the away change room. 
  • CORNER FLAGS/POLES: Remove all flags, poles from field and put into respective pole bins for storage.
  • NETS :  Undo them together with the anchors and velcros and put them into respective net bins for storage.
  • CHAIRS/BENCHES: Gather to remove all chairs and benches within technical area 


It is also recommended with appreciation if you can make sure the field is left clean, with all the rubbish including used drink bottles and rubbish be put into the rubbish bins.

Also make sure that nothing or any personal belongings is left behind, that if you see anything in the field do endorse them to the canteen as lost and found.

Field duties apply if you have a home game at Ted Burge. 

Players

  • If you are not feeling well - STAY HOME. Let your parents to let your respective team manager or coach know as soon as possible.
  • Come to the game on or before designated meetup time at the ground location - always prepared for the warmup and the game. if you plan to change to your game uniform at the grounds - allow extra time to do this when you arrive at the grounds. For any circumstances that you will be late - have the courtesy to inform by SMS or call your Team manager or Coach.
  • Come ready with your complete game uniform, i.e. Game Jerseys, Game shorts, Game socks, football boots, shin pads. DON'T FORGET THEM BEFORE LEAVING HOME.
  • Any form of jewelleries must not be worn - leave it at home or secure them in  your parents care and keep. 
  • Bring hydration drinks for your game. Some grounds may not have a canteen in operation for you to buy drinks or food.

Coaches and Managers

Prior to your Game

  • Make sure electronic match and team sheets are filled in and completed prior to game kickoff.
  • Bring the Game jersey bag and a few balls to the game including the Match Ball for use in warmup and during the game.
  • Arrive at the game location prior to team meetup time to familiarize yourself with the the ground location and know prior the field to which your game is to be played. it is usually posted near or at the canteen the location or ground map, or the home club grounds may have signs or flags to identify field numbers or if not ask any home club official.
  • Make sure you have a team warmup, team chat and sorted player positions for your players before game kickoff. Assign a team captain for the match if you haven't got a team captain nominated for your team.
  • Check and ensure that all players are in complete Game uniform - wearing their shin pads and NO Jewelleries! Necklaces, bracelets, earrings, watch, rings, piercings, etc must be taken off and we suggest leave it at home at no risk of getting it lost at the field.
  • Give the match ball to the referee if he asks for it for use during the game. And make sure you get them back after the full time for use on your next game.
  • Provide an Official Team official yellow vest to assign a parent/sibling to become a Team's Field Marshall for the duration of the game. Their role is to make sure all our Parents/ Family, Friends, Guests of our players are in line and of good behaviour during the game either home or away but specially at away game at other club's home ground. Make sure the vest is returned after the game for use by another parent/sibling (in rotation) to do the role.
  • At home games in Ted Burge, if your team is playing first for that field - kindly advise and inform to encourage all players and their parents to setup the field prior to your game so you can start the game promptly by your kickoff time. 

During the Game

  • As much as possible, give all players including substitutes the playing time they deserve. Though it will not be equal for everyone - always think about achieving equal playing time for all players in the team. 
  • Keep key notes of things you want to point out, chat, and discuss during half time and also other important information to keep record for your post game or next training discussions.
  • Managers can at their discretion - keep records to attendance, game information or statistics and playing time of all players for each game throughout the season. This can be used as a basis for selecting your starting players and those  on the bench.
  • For competition teams (U12s and above) - make sure only the team officials ie Coach, managers, and players (all people in the teamsheet) are the only people allowed in the Technical Area during the game. Coach and Managers must wear their Club polo shirts and cap if you need to whilst at the Technical Area. Every players on the bench as substitutes must  be sitting down and must wear a bib while not in the field of play. PARENTS/FAMILY/SPECTATORS/GUESTS must not enter or stay in the technical area. A  team vest can be assigned to one parent to wear during the game as a Field marshall to ensure that this is adhered on and keeping our supporters in line and in order. All Members of the team including spectators are expected to be courteous, respectful and orderly behaviour while supporting our team. INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOUR WILL NOT BE TOLERATED and MUST BE REPORTED TO THE CLUB.  Being loud and proud is OK - but not in an inappropriate way.

After your Game

  • At the conclusion of the game - make sure you get the final score from the referees to verify your count and also to record into the online match sheets for the results.
  • At your discretion - get the players to warmdown while you are doing the post game team chat and de-brief. Keep it short, simple and succinct -mention only key points and highlights you want to share but leave out deep analysis, lessons or learnings about the game to your next training and its details. 
  • It is a good idea to have Player of the Match Award: Award a deserving player or players each game - This is not necessarily the best player, but noted improvers, hard workers, classic goal scorer, best post-goal celebration, etc. SHARE THE REWARDS.
  • At home games in Ted Burge, if your team is playing first for that field - kindly advise and inform to encourage all players and their parents to setup the field prior to your game so you can start the game promptly by your kickoff time. Or, if your team is playing last game on the field - kindly advise and inform to encourage all players and their parents to packup the field after your game so that the next scheduled game using the bigger field can also start promptly at their designated kickoff time with no delay. The more hands we pull together to do these tasks the quicker and lighter it will be for everyone.
  • At home games in Ted Burge, please assign at least one parents/family (2 is ideal) to help and asisist in canteen duties as contribution and support to the club during game days. Ensure you have all the parents/family rotate throughout the season for Canteen duties every time you have a home game. They can approach any committee members at the Ted Burge canteen who can advise if they need people to help or otherwise depending on the need. If canteen duties is needed, the nominated parents will need to sign in on the logbook or scan QR code to check-in. Assistance in canteen duties is needed to assist selling of food/drinks and merchandise for the duration of the next game or until they are advised to go earlier than expected. 
  • Keep tab of game record of goals, yellow cards, red cards, and attendance where necessary. You may need it at some point if and when required.

Parents, Family, Friends and Guests

  • Game Fixtures are subject to change at anytime before the Game Kickoff - thus it is always a good idea to check regularly the latest updates or changes online. Click here for details the game fixtures here.
  • Please wear Wenty colors (ie Maroon/Burgundy and Gold) if possible where you can.
  • We encourage support of player and cheer the team, HOWEVER - please be courteous, respectful with the opposing team, and of good behaviour when cheering for your player or the team. Being LOUD and PROUD is OK, but not in an inappropriate way. 
  • If you are playing a home game at Ted Burge - your help and assistance may be required to setup the field if your team is first game on that field and/or packing up the field if your team is the last game on that field. Your team's responsibility for either setup or packup will be notified in Club Teamapp or may be advised by your respective Team manager or Coach. We encourage everyone if not all to help and assist in getting a prompt start for your game and the game after.
  • Please make sure you are not inside the technical area for the duration for the game. The technical area is only for the Coach, Manager and Players - you must be outside the marked area of exclusion for spectators at the ground location. If you are assigned as a Team's Field Marshall - wear the vest at all times and try to enforce the above for all and make sure all our Parents/ Family, Friends, Guests of our team are in line and of good behaviour in home games at Ted Burge but specially when in an Away game at other club's home ground. Make sure the vest is returned after the game for use by another parent (in rotation) to do the role. As much as possible be together with all the other team supporters.
